Turchi napoletani, il calcio visto da Istanbul

Mi presento.
Nato a napoli, studio economia, vivo e studierò  ad Istanbul per i prossimi 6 mesi.
Malato di calcio.
Talmente malato di calcio che uno dei motivi che mi ha portato a scegliere Istanbul come meta Erasmus, è il calcio.
Chiaramente, dicendo questo, non voglio screditare la magia della multicultura offerta dalla regina del Bosforo.

Partiamo da un po' di numeri.
La TURKIYE SPOR TOTO SUPER LIG, è composta da 18 squadre.
Cinque squadre sono di Istanbul.
“Che esagerazione!” direte.

La Turchia conta 40 milioni di abitanti.
Istanbul ne conta quasi 17 milioni.
“Forse non è così esagerato” allora.

Le cinque squadre di istanbul sono: Basaksehir, Besiktas, Fenerbache, Galatasaray e Kasimpasa.
Come tutti gli appassionati di calcio sanno, in realtà, le regine sono solo le tre centrali.
Fenerbache è la squadra che gioca nel lato asiatico di Istanbul, Kadikoy.
Galatasaray e Besiktas si contendono invece il centro della città moderna.
Due bellissimi quartieri.
Galatasaray è un quartiere che si sviluppa tra Taksim, la piazza del popolo, e la torre Galata, che si affaccia proprio sul Corno d’oro.
Besiktas invece è un bellissimo quartiere sul mare, molto tradizionale, molto elegante.

Lo spettacolo è vedere il popolo che si colora nei giorni della partita.
Camminare per strada e vedere maglie, felpe, sciarpe e cappelli; i colori illuminano una città che già è di suo maledettamente colorata.
Al momento non mi è mai sembrato rischiosa questa convivenza.
Ho visto due partite del Galatasaray in due pub diversi, ed uno era addirittura nel cuore di Besiktas.

Alcuni amici possono giurare che nei giorni vicini ai derby, l’aria si elettrizza.
Ma è normale che sia così.
E mi piacerà se dovesse così.
L’agonismo nell’aria è una delle cose più belle che un tifoso possa avvertire.

Ora, mai rinnegando la mia fede, intensa, al Napoli, mi tocca scegliere.
Ed è una questione molto delicata per tre motivi.
Perché su questo non si scherza, è una cosa seria per loro ed è giusto che si rispetti a pieno l’amore di un tifoso.
Perché spero che questa esperienza, accompagnata anche da un tifo viscerale,  possa arricchirmi esponenzialmente.
Perché un tifoso, per avere la possibilità di andare allo stadio durante il campionato, deve avere una tessera, uguale a quella italiana, che esclude la possibilità di andare anche in altri stadi, se non nei giorni di trasferta.

Le KARAKARTAL, aquile nere, del Besiktas.
I SARI KANARYA, canarini gialli, del Fenerbache.
Oppure i CIMBOM, del Galatasaray.
Presto farò la mia scelta.
Ma il mio cuore sarà sempre a Napoli.

I’m going to introduce myself.
Born in Napoli, studying Business, I’m spending the next 6 months in Istanbul as an Erasmus student.
Soccer addict.
So soccer addict, that it is one of the reasons why i have chosen Istanbul as Erasmus destination.
Actually, I’dont want to depreciate the magic multiculturalism that the queen of the Bosphorus offers.

Let’s start analyzing some numbers.
TURKIYE SPOR TOTO SUPER LIG, the main turkish league, has got 18 teams.
Five teams are from Istanbul.
“Too many” you say.

Turkey has got 40 millions people.
Istanbul has got 17 millions.
“No, it is not so many afterall” now.

The five teams are: Basaksehir, Besiktas, Fenerbache, Galatasaray e Kasimpasa.
As everybody knows, the main are Besiktas, Fenerbache, Galatasaray.
Fenerbache plays in the Asiatic side, the district of Kadikoy.
Galatasaray and Besiktas divide the heart of the modern west side.
The first is based in a district that develope from the popular “Taksim Square” until the Golden Horn.
Besiktas, in stead, is based a wonderful seaside district.

The real show is in the match days, when everyone dresses the favourite team jersey.
You can walk the streets watching t-shirts, hoodies, scarfs and caps, that coloures even more a coloured ciry.

By the moment, this coexistence of different supporters doesn’t look dangerous.
But some friends told me that (the during the derby period) in the days preceding and following the derby the atmosphere really heats up.
This is normal.
And I will like it, because the agonistic air is amazing for a sport lover.

But now i have to choose which team to cheer, always loving mostly Napoli.
It is really a sensitive issue for three reason.
Firstly, I have to take it really seriously because it is not a joke, and I have to respect all the local supporters.
Secondly, I am sure that this experience can increase the normal “Erasmus” experience.
Thirdly, if i choose a team, for going to the home stadium of that team I have to fill a form for having a fan card, and it will exclude the possibility to go in other stadium.

KARAKARTAL, black eagles, of Besiktas.
SARI KANARYA, yellow birds, of Fenerbache.
Or CIMBOM, as are called Galatasaray fan.

Anyway, my heart will be always for Napoli.
